We continue our series of Temecula Wineries with Oak Mountain. We thought it would be a great idea to visit each winery in Temecula and give our opinions and thoughts on each individual Temecula Winery through articles and video. We will be giving information on wine clubs, the cost of wine tasting, the overall vibe of the winery, views, service, and amenities. We are going to stay away from rating wines as everybody has a different pallet for what they enjoy. We will be as honest as possible with every review. If we don’t like a winery, we will let you know and give you our reasons. We will also be including videos, hopefully, this will give you a sense of the landscape, tasting rooms, and amenities.

Oak Mountain is located at 36522 Via Verde in Temecula just off de Portola. One of the things we liked right off the bat about Oak Mountain was the location. Rancho California Road and De Portola Road are the main “winery” roads and run almost parallel to each other. Rancho California road is definitely much busier in the way of traffic. This is not a huge deal but we wanted to give our readers every detail possible about each winery. Sometimes, especially when it’s getting dark I feel much more comfortable driving on a road with fewer cars, especially when your in an area where people have obviously been drinking. It’s also nice to enjoy the views with very little traffic or noise passing by.

Temecula California is one of the best cities to live in southern California. After living in multiple cities throughout Southern California over the last 17 years, I decided to write an in-depth blog post on why Temecula could be the best decision for you and your family moving forward in regards to a city to relocate to. If you would like to read about it, click here

Oak Mountain is a family-owned business that was founded in the year 2005. Wines include Mourvedre, Viognier, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel, and Sangiovese Brunello.

Wine Tasting

There are three areas where you can wine taste. The cave which non-members can use Monday to Friday, only members on weekends. There’s a main Tasting Room which you will see as soon as you walk up to the winery. There’s also a large room to the right of the main tasting room, which we think is only open on weekends. It has a small bar type atmosphere with tons of seating and great views of the Temecula Wine Country

Hours of Operation

Oak Mountain is open 7 days a week. You can taste in the cave Monday to Friday but it’s only available for members on weekends. They are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.

Cost of Tasting

The cost is $15 during the weeks and $20 on the weekends. You should look on Groupon as many times Oak Mountain will have specials running.

Restaurant – the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and it has a nice variety of shareable, soups and salads, sandwiches, main dishes, and desserts. There is a nice patio just outside the cave with lots of seating. On the weekends you might want to call and make reservations, it can get busy on weekends.

Wine Club

Before we get into the specifics of Oak Mountains wine club we wanted to give our opinions on things that are important to us when choosing what wineries to join. Of course, one of the most important things is enjoying the wine. We suggest you take your time before joining wineries, enjoy some tastings with as much variety as possible. Visit at least 4-5 places before making a decision. You always think you’re at the best winery until you visit the next one. Ask yourself, How many bottles of wine do you have to buy each month? What’s the cost of the monthly membership? How often can you visit the winery for tastings? In regards to tastings, we prefer a set amount that we can use each month. Reason being? If we have friends or family visiting and we get eight tastings a month, we can share them with others. Some wineries will only allow you and a guest to taste. There’s nothing wrong with that but if you have a business and clients or you have family close by that might not be the best situation.

There are many things to do in Temecula in regards to outdoor activities or living. I wrote a blog post on some of the more prominent things people do in Temecula in regards to the outdoors. If you would like a list of outdoor activities, click here for the blog post.

The location and Vibe is also very high on the list for us. We want a place that is laid back and we feel relaxed every time we go. We also like a nice view and some live music. We find music brings something extra and usually makes the day more enjoyable. Does Oak Mountain Pass the vibe and view test? Absolutely! Even though the parking lot gets full, we never get the sense that it’s too busy. There always seems to be a spot where you can sit down, relax and have a nice conversation. There is a great deal of seating with gorgeous views, we love the rolling hills and vast views in Temecula wine country
